In order to make your bathroom vintage, dreamlike or simply a conversation piece, use antique or reclaimed hardware fixtures and an antique cabinet.
Vintage brass hardware and sconces were used in this room to give the illusion of a very aged antique-like feeling as if you were walking back in time. The cabinet below the vintage marble sink was also an antique acquired by the client in his travels over the years to antique stores. The combination of the vintage gold finish and the worn-out honed marble top and antique cabinet, make you feel like the bathroom is over 100 years old.
If you are trying to find your style and you can’t decide, start with the antique cabinet that goes under the sink. Use that as your focal point. Or, like in the photo select a vintage finish you want to focus on and change the finish in the entire room to a vintage gold, which dates the fixtures and gives a little history to the theme of the room. The most popular room to add charm and character and make a different statement is the powder room. Of course, you can do a different statement in every room. For example, when I remodel kitchens I use the Island as my statement and do something different to make it vintage and a conversation piece.
