A home theater consists of the equipment that can be hidden and a very large movie screen. The placement of all the equipment, screen and speakers are crucial to the viewing and listening to movies. The cool part about all of this is the equipment and movie screen can be integrated into and hidden in any room.
This particular room is a historically themed family room that when the screen is up, it simply shows built-in cabinetry around a vintage stone fireplace with an oil painting above it. The room is adorned with antiques and collectables. Pretty much every aspect of this room and what’s in it is custom. The movie screen was always a part of the room and part of a well thought out plan to have it hidden in the ceiling joist above the fireplace upper mantle. The equipment is in another room that can be accessed from this room by sliding a wall panel. The projector is hidden amongst the carved beams and the ceiling as well as all of the speakers. So when the theatre is not in use, nobody knows it’s even there. But when Friday movie night comes around, the screen comes down, the lights dim and the popcorn is made and there are many hours of enjoyment for all.
