02 – My Passion for Supporting Women in Construction

Are you a woman interested in getting into the construction industry but feel intimidated by the male-dominated field? Look no further than our conversation on women in construction. Julie Laughton shares her experiences of being questioned about her knowledge and expertise as a woman. She also discusses the objectification of women and inappropriate comments that she has endured but emphasizes the importance of not using femininity or sexuality to gain an advantage. Julie suggests that offering training and education opportunities to get women interested and qualified in construction management would be a great start. She also recommends women get out there, spread the word that it's possible, and give encouragement and resources to other women.
